Jilda Kouroumlian

About
Jilda Kouroumlian is a founding partner of Athlaw LLP, where she has been instrumental in building the firm’s reputation as a leader in ERISA disability benefits and NFL Concussion Settlement claims. Known for her strategic advocacy and empathetic approach, Jilda has secured life-changing results for clients, including numerous seven-figure Concussion Settlement claims and hard-to-win Active Total & Permanent (T&P) disability benefits. Her work has also led to significant posthumous awards for widowed representatives of NFL players, a testament to her dedication to justice.
Jilda has played a pivotal role in shaping Athlaw’s client-focused culture. She pioneered many of the systems that form the foundation of the firm’s success, from case management and organizational practices to effective client communication. As a mentor, Jilda has guided law clerks and legal interns, helping to develop the next generation of attorneys at the firm.
Before Athlaw, Jilda worked at a complex litigation firm where she quickly demonstrated her talent by handling depositions, arguing discovery motions, and preparing for trial—all within her first year as an attorney. This early experience honed her litigation and case management skills, which she brought to Athlaw when she helped launch the firm alongside Sam Katz.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Jilda takes pride in being a role model to her young daughter, leading with faith, compassion, and purpose. A former athlete who competed in CIF swimming and Junior Olympics, she appreciates the discipline and grit that competitive sports demand, which deepens her connection to her clients. In her free time, she enjoys music, reading, health and wellness, and spending time outdoors near the ocean.
